Get the App

Download Gamejam

Handpicked games in one app. Gamejam downloads its games on first launch and keeps itself up to date.

All downloads

Install on Windows

  1. Extract the ZIP to a short path, like C:\Games\Gamejam.

A very deep folder path stops the app from starting.

  2. Run Gamejam.exe.

You do not need an installer or administrator rights.

  3. If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, select More info, then Run anyway.

Windows shows this because the app is not code signed yet.

Needs Windows 10 or 11 and a GPU with Direct3D 12 support. The first launch needs an internet connection. Saves, games and logs live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\THGames, so you can move or delete the app folder safely. Move the folder; do not copy it.

Install on Mac

  1. Open the downloaded ZIP.
  2. Drag Gamejam.app into Applications.

Move it; do not copy it.

  3. Open Gamejam.

Apple signed and notarized the app, so it opens without warnings.

Needs macOS 15 or newer, on Apple Silicon or Intel. The first launch needs an internet connection. Saves, games and logs stay outside the app.

Install on Linux

  1. Extract the ZIP anywhere in your home folder.

You do not need an installer or root access.

  2. From the extracted folder, run:
    ./launch.sh

If you get “Permission denied”, run this first:

    chmod +x launch.sh Gamejam seed/entry-v1 seed/game_catalogue
  3. Optional: run ./install-desktop.py to add Gamejam to your application menu.

Steam Deck

Do the steps above in Desktop Mode. To play from Gaming Mode, add Gamejam to your Steam library, still in Desktop Mode:

python3 install-desktop.py --steam --restart-steam

x64 needs glibc 2.30 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+, Linux Mint 21+, Fedora, rolling distributions, Steam Deck). ARM64 needs glibc 2.39 or newer (Ubuntu 24.04+ or Fedora 40+). Both need a Vulkan GPU with working drivers and an X11 or Wayland desktop. The first launch needs an internet connection. Saves, games and logs stay outside the app folder, under your user state directory.
